18 UK Fintechs looking to scale up down under
Across two weeks in September 2020, Newfound ran a series of immersive sessions with over 50 expert speakers in total for a cohort of 18 ambitious international fintech businesses looking to scale to Australia.
With short, focused sessions with actionable insights and speaker engagement, the fortnight covered a range of topics, from government support, fintech regulation, investment and data rights.
Our cohort learned from trade and industry leaders on the support Australia has to offer, including industry networks, investment options - and heard lessons learned from fintech businesses who have made the journey already.
50+
expert speakers including experts from KPMG Australia, Fintech Australia, Invest Victoria, and NSW Treasury.

2 weeks
of immersive sessions to help businesses accelerate their market entry plan.
The Market Mission programme offered a fast-track, virtual programme that would normally take months and considerable time and expense to access. It helped businesses that participated to accelerate their market entry.
We were delighted to have been joined on the mission by Jane Hume, the Australian government's Assistant Minister for Superannuation, Financial Services and Financial Technology.
Other senior speakers on the Australian mission included experts from KPMG Australia, Fintech Australia, the UK government's Department for International Trade (DIT), Invest Victoria, NSW Treasury & Trade and Investment Queensland, YBF Ventures, Volt Bank, Stone & Chalk, Intangible Communication, Basiq and Sofos Advisory.
The programme culminated with a Pitch Day event, helping companies in our cohort to connect direct to commercial prospects in market.
Despite Australia being home, there are lots of little things that are new/helpful, so I really appreciate being in the programme.
